Bed and Breakfast - Ascham House, Rye, Sussex

We offer a unique experience, with a self-contained B & B suite. Comparable to honeymoon suites found in quality hotels, our accommodation has a delightful bedroom, which can be set up with twin beds or a large double. There is an adjoining sitting room with a sofa-bed, breakfast table, a butler’s sink built into an antique dresser, fridge and microwave. The stunning en-suite bathroom has a free-standing bath, with ball and claw feet.

As we only offer the one suite, a stay here is quiet and very private. The accommodation caters for two in luxury and up to four by using the sofa-bed. We can also supply a z-bed and a travel cot. Many families have found our suite particularly comfortable, because while the children sleep their parents can use the sitting room without disturbing them. Baby sitting is available, on request.

This beautiful town of Rye is full of History, with the famous 11th century Mermaid Inn, cobbled streets and the delightful Church. There are many fine art galleries to visit and antiques to purchase. Alternatively there are walks to enjoy, to the sandy beach at Camber, the 1066 walk through rambling countryside past King Henry VIII’s Camber castle & the Icklesham windmill, stopping off at the Queens head for refreshments.

Rye may be hidden on the South East coast but is easy to get to by road or rail and is an ideal base from which to visit Canterbury, Tenterden, Ashford, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, Battle, Bexhill or even Brighton (1½ hour drive).
