Farthings is a comfortable Victorian residence with quiet and simply furnished rooms. Breakfast is served in a shared dining room but with separate dining tables. Freshly ground coffee, freshly pressed orange juice and freshly made fruit salad might start you off well in the morning as well a good selection of cereals and yoghurts etc. All the jams and marmalade are home made or come from the WI stall in the market. Salisbury and surrounding area has much to offer, wonderful sights, the beautiful Cathedral, lovely walks and views and is of real holiday value either active or winding down.
Not only are there all the cultural sights but easy links to other towns and cities with something for everyone. Excellent shopping in Southampton or Bath, traditional National Trust and Heritage properties as well as walking and cycling routes for miles around.
We have cinemas and theatres as well as gig venues and galleries. An early morning swim or gym facilities are locally available and with five rivers running through the city there are lovely river walks at all times of the year. As in most cities we have the standard and good selection of restaurants as well as some hidden gems in surrounding villages.
The lovely New Forest national park is a short distance to go walking and for the energetic, the coastal walk of 12 miles from Hengestbury Head along the Bournemouth seafront to Poole is an hour's drive.
