Ulverston is a fine market town in the centre of the Furness peninsula, with old buildings and a labyrinth of cobbled streets, and is the start of the 70 mile Cumbrian Way.
It is the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and home to the world's only Laurel and Hardy Museum.
It has the world's shortest, widest and deepest canal, and is just a mile and a half from the sea at Morecambe Bay.
We are only 20 minutes drive from the Lake District areas such as Coniston and Windermere. Here you can enjoy walking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, mountaineering and all the other outdoor sports associated with britains Adventure Capital
For those who would rather chill out with good food and fine wine then the Lake District is home to many award winning eateries, coffee shops , galleries and boutiques,
You can also visit many historical and cultural interest properties including Beatrix Potters home and garden, the Arts and crafts showcase house at Townend near Ambleside and the homes of writers William Wordsworth at Grasmere and John Ruskin at Brantwood near Coniston.
We are also very close to Barrow in Furness where you can visit the award winning Dock Museum telling the amazing story of the town’s industrial and shipbuilding heritage.
Other places within a 20 minute drive include the quaint village of Cartmel with its 12 century Priory and famous French cuisine from L'Enclume. In the same area you can visit Holker Hall with its magnificent gardens and Food Hall.
