The Mews in Windermere village is situated in the most beautiful area of Great Britain. Easily accessed by rail, bus or car. The train and bus are 200m away or you will have your own car park. The Mews offers Bed and Breakfast to adults only. Here you will have your own PRIVATE SITTING ROOM; next door is your double bedroom with a bathroom ensuite with bath and shower. Both the bedroom and sitting room have a T.V with DVD player.
There is a fridge for your own use where fresh milk is provided each day. The sitting room has a table and chairs so if you want to bring in a "take-away" we do not mind. You can leave your car parked all day and use our walk guides or take a drive following one of our many car routes. A short walk down through a lovely wood brings you to a quiet, unspoilt area called Miller Ground. Here you can watch the sunset over the Langdale Pikes as it casts its crimson glow across the water to your feet.
The Windermere Lake Cruises run many trips up and down the lake 364 days of the year. Incorporating a sail with a walk is a wonderful way of seeing the area. The Mountain Goat Bus Company have a programme of tours both half and full day to all areas of the Lake District. They will pick you up at the door and drop you off at the end of the day. The famous Lakeland Ltd is just 2 minutes walk away. For folks who enjoy historic houses there is Dove Cottage for Wordsworth, Hill Top for Beatrix Potter, Sizer and Muncaster Castles all within this beautiful area.
