Welcome to West Coates, a beautiful Georgian House set in 2 acres of mature gardens, situated on the outskirts of historic BerwickUpon-Tweed. West Coates, owned and personally run by Karen Brown who is a locally renowned chef.
West Coates is within a 5 minute walk of the railway station (Main East coast Line) a day trip to Edinburgh in 45 minutes, and a 2 minute car journey into the town centre or you can take a leisurely walk into town by the River Tweed.
The beautiful unspoilt coastline, designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, together with the River Tweed and Cheviot Hills, are all on our doorstep and combine to make this a most memorable destination. The visitor to Berwick upon Tweed will find West Coates an excellent base from which to visit a variety of interesting places in the region all year round. There are numerous local attractions including the famous Border Abbeys, historic Castles including Alnwick, Bamburgh and Floors, and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Take a boat to the Farne Islands to see the puffins and seals. Visit the wonderful gardens of Alnwick, Cragside, Howick and Wallington.
