Dartmouth is the unspoilt gem of the South Hams. Sited on the banks of the beautiful river Dart our small town attracts people from all corners of the Arts. Painters, writers and poets and of course is a great favourite with sailors.
The thriving Town hosts many famed restaurants including The Seahorse and has many more to suit all tastes and pockets. The majority of our shops are independently run making it an experience to wander through the flower adorned streets and gaze into the Galleries and treasure troves full of unexpected gems.
A trip up the river on one of the many pleasure crafts will open your eyes to the history of the town, showing the Walter Raleigh Estate to the stunning grounds and house of Agatha Christie.
Out between the two castles you will learn of the Galleons sent to fight the Spanish Armada and the many Battleships that found a safe haven during the Second World War.
Dartmouth is also a place of peaceful contemplation to sit and watch and enjoy the magic of the past and present.
Our small B&B, facing south accross the valley and down to the river, is also our home and we enjoy sharing the joy of living in such a beautiful place.
