Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of Dingwall
Knockbain House was completely rebuilt in 2008 under architect supervision to provide superior Bed & Breakfast accommodation for guests who enjoy staying in a country environment and yet be close to town facilities, with excellent road and rail connections with the rest of Scotland.
David and Denise Lockett have lived at Knockbain for 35 years and run a 700 acre farm which produces quality beef and lamb as well as barley for the Scotch whisky industry.
The guest rooms are independent of the owner's living area and you will have exclusive front door/hallway access and your own huge sitting room and connecting dining room. Breakfast is cooked to order and 3 course evening meals can be provided by prior special arrangement. Our website will give you full information and more photographs.
The house has been designed to high environmental standards and features a carbon neutral wood fired central heating and hot water system and heat recovery ventilation. All fuel is sourced from our extensive woodlands. Over 70 species of birds have been recorded and Knockbain is one of the best sites in Scotland to see Red Kites.
We have a full set of Ordnance Survey maps and will be happy to assist with itinerary planning. We are very well placed for visits to Inverness and Loch Ness, the North and West Highlands as well the Moray, Cromarty and Dornoch Firths all noted for birdlife and Dolphins.
