Seahorses is a superbly appointed and spacious property in Wembury village in the South Hams, overlooking National Trust land and the sea.
The bay off the beach is an area of Marine Conservation popular with scuba & snorkel divers with dense seaweed which attracts a large variety of fish and crustaceans. There is a small dinghy park at the top of the beach which is used by visiting divers, anglers and dinghy sailors.
The riding stable is at the rear of the beach and the ancient church of St Werburgh stands on the cliff overlooking the bay.
The village 'pub' is the Odd Wheel which provides excellent bar/restaurant meals and a very good range of local real ales.
Close to the village is the Elizabethan manor of Langdon Court which has an excellent restaurant and is five minutes by car but can also be reached by walking, as well as the Mussel and Eddystone Inns which have bar/restaurant facilities.
The 18 hole Staddon Heights Golf Club is 4 miles away with outstanding views of Plymouth Sound. For divers, the wreck of the Sycilla is approx. 16 miles by car (40 minutes) or parking for RIBS is available at Wembury Beach Boatpark by arrangement and by sea the distance is 8 miles.
