The Lawns is conveniently situated 8 miles from A40/M50 at Ross-On-Wye and 8 miles south of Hereford City, where the beautiful Cathedral is home to the unique Mappa Mundi.
There are many Pubs and excellent restaurants within our area, just ask for our list. Walk or cycle along the lovely Wye Valley and into the Royal Forest of Dean where there are many paths. Visit Hay-On-Wye, the second-hand book shop of the world, walk up Hay Bluff from where on a clear day, you can see the whole of Herefordshire and beyond, set out below.
Be adventurous and tour the Brecon Beacons, Black and White villages or take a canoe on the Wye or cycle in Mortimore Forest. Other Market towns such as Ross-On-Wye, Monmouth and Abergavenny, all have fine churches and there are many others such as famous Kilpeck and Abbey Dore, within easy reach. Farmers markets are held regularly hereabouts but local food is sold in many Farm shops throughout Herefordshire, we use Pengethley Farm Shop because it's our nearest, is well stocked and convenient.
On the other hand, you may just like to take one of our local 'Walks from The Lawns' out to lunch in a pub, return and just space out in the garden for the evening?"
