Guest House on the outskirts of Tavistock

We are a family run country cottage guest house and we also have self catering cottages in the grounds, the cottage was originally the gardener's bothy to the main house on a small estate, hence our walled garden, cucumber house and victorian greenhouse which is now our function room and is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.

You can choose to stay in the cottage or have one of our garden studio's which give you greater freedom to come and go as you please and also be able to cook yourself a lunch or evening meal should you be exhausted from walking on Dartmoor. We can provide evening meals if booked in advance, we are not licensed so please feel free to bring your own wine.

During the day you can wander around the market. The pannier market, located next to Bedford Square, is full of stalls selling a wonderful collection of quirky goods. There’s a great selection of products on offer including paintings, pet supplies, locally produced food products, hand crafted pottery and books. You can quite easily spend half an hour weaving your way from one end of the hall to the other, and you’ll see lots of interesting things on the way!

We have an amazing cheese shop in Tavistock.

Go tree surfing. Tree Surfers is located in Gulworthy – just a couple of miles outside of Tavistock.
