The Oxford Arms is nestled in Kington a small peaceful town in rural Herefordshire it dates in parts back to the 17th Century it is mainly a timber frame and stone building that has been added to over the years and in Victorian times the front façade was added. There is still a lot of timber inside however which gives you a real feel for its age. The Oxford Arms is the perfect place to enjoy wholesome home-made traditional pub food in a warm welcoming atmosphere. Drinkers and diners can choose to sit in our more traditional homely pub bar or our warm more comfortable lounge bar. You will always be made welcome at The Oxford Arms by our friendly staff whether you are coming in for a meal in the week or a traditional Sunday lunch or if you just want to sit by our fires on a cold day and read the papers with a pint of one our Herefordshire brewed real ales you are always welcome. We aim to provide you with great food and local cask ales comfortable accommodation and friendly efficient service. Local Area Kington is popular with people who walk canoe fish and cycle alike being very close to the Mortimer Trail which runs between Kington and Ludlow and the more famous Offas Dyke walk which covers a route 177 miles long along the border of England and Wales. It is also central to the Wye and Usk rivers so for those of you who want a watery get away Kington is the place to come. Kington also boast an 18-hole golf course which is said to be the highest in England. It is situated on Bradnor Hill and is over 390m above sea level. At the West end of Kington is a tall clock tower that commemorates Queen Victoria’s jubilee in 1887. There is also a very beautiful recreation ground at this end of the town that is surrounded by trees and has a shallow river running along one edge. St Mary’s church overlooks Kington with its 18th century lynch gate and massive Norman tower and from here you have panoramic views down the Arrow Valley.

Here at The Oxford we can offer good hearty home cooked food and quality local real ales. For those of you who are walking one of the many trails in Herefordshire and staying with us we can offer out door clothing storage and drying and for cyclists we are able to store your bikes in a secure facility. We also use a local luggage transfer service if you require your bags moved onto your next nights stay.
Dining Facilities
Our dining room which seats 40 is a traditionally decorated room with lots of woodwork on show. It is bright and airy and in the colder months there is a large woodburner to stave away the chill in the evenings. We have a fairly traditional menu which is all made in our kitchen and a specials board which is changed frequently. If you dont want to eat in the dining room you can choose to eat in the bar which is more informal or on a nice evening you may choose to eat outside on our patio.
