Martock is a large village in South Somerset, located on the edge of the Somerset Levels.
Martock is particularly rich in fine, old buildings, constructed in local golden hamstone, quarried from nearby Ham Hill. The village includes Grade I and II listed buildings such as the Treasurer's House, the Market House and the Church. All Saints' Church is the second largest in the county, and it is renowned for the carved tie-beam roof of its nave. From Martock you have excellent access to numerous local National Trust properties and Gardens as well as Yandle's wood yard where they hold the popular Woodworking Show.
Other local attractions include the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum, shopping at Clarke's Village in Street, Glastonbury or head south for the jurassic coast at Lyme Regis.
